The Heart of Consolation is a token of solace and support for everyone who lost a loved one during the Corona pandemic.
How do we commemorate and mourn the loved we lost in a time where we cannot come together? Amsterdam residents left a flower and a message on a floating heart. They lit a candle on it. This way, The Heart of Consolation (het Hart van Troost) meandered the Amsterdam canals from 4 to 11 July and through Diemen on 12 July. We made it, together with the Municipality of Amsterdam.
We connected an in-memoriam website allowing for personal messages, candles, and flowers to be placed on the monument.

"You can see it is made with love."
Via the website, relatives could track the heart “live” through a GPS tracker and see their flower and message passing by.
