Over 500 football clubs joined to create social impact on a national scale.
As a legacy program of EURO2020 and in collaboration with the “KNVB” and het “Oranje Fonds” we created the first National Football Day. An event format, campaign, and straight-up party at your local club’s headquarters. Designed to make a positive social impact on its surroundings.
Besides extensive event packages to theme the venue, clubs got funding to do something special that accentuates their roots in the neighbourhood.

Nowadays, it’s all about connection — in any form. With the Nationale Voetbaldag, we create awareness for your local football club as a place of remarkable encounters and connectivity. Members share so much more than those games every week. It’s great to see five hundred clubs embracing that role. And that their celebration includes the entire community, also those who could use the extra support right now.

The day started with a national warming-up. Throughout the Netherlands, thousands of participants joined online for an exciting kick-off. Next, they enjoyed activities ranging from a mini football tournament to social distanced picnicking, visiting local senior homes and inviting young status-holders to join in on the fun.
